Welcome to Snowdrop Class!

Snowdrop Class are taught by Miss Brown in the mornings and Mr Shipway in the afternoons.

Welcome to an exciting start to the school year in Snowdrop Class!

This term is all about helping the children settle happily into their new classroom, become familiar with school routines, and build positive friendships. Creating a safe, nurturing environment is our priority as the children begin their learning journey together.

Our topic is Marvellous Me, where we will explore what makes each of us special and unique. Through stories, discussions and play, the children will learn about their feelings and emotions. They will also be introduced to The Colour Monster, using their own Mini Me characters to help communicate how they are feeling throughout the day.

Drawing Club

Drawing Club is not a scheme of learning; it is a playful way of encouraging children to become confident storytellers through creative mark-making. Each week, the children will explore a high-quality fiction or non-fiction book, or a short animation, using it as inspiration for their own ideas.

Together, we will delve into the characters and setting, before enjoying two special Adventure Days, where the children invent their own exciting twists, characters or events linked to the story. Drawing Club helps make writing meaningful, enjoyable and fun, while building rich vocabulary, communication skills and a love of storytelling.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the framework used in nurseries, preschools, and reception classes in England for children from birth to age 5. It sets the standards for learning, development, and care to ensure children are given the best start in life. The EYFS is built around seven areas of learning and development. These are divided into three prime areas and four specific areas:
